Promises, Promises
“Your rudimentary understanding of the Wizarding World always seems to put you at a distinct disadvantage.”
Harry kept his anger in check as he listened to the lilting voice yet again manage to berate him for his lack of knowledge.
“If you had bothered to investigate you would have known that any agreement verbal or written is protected by Wizarding Law. Failure to honor it or produce appropriate compensation and you can be fined 1000 galleons or a short stay in Azkaban.”
Harry gaped at Lucius Malfoy. “You can’t possibly be ser . . .” Harry’s voice trailed off as he realized to whom he was talking to.
Harry sighed to himself and glared at Lucius.
After a silent battle of wills Harry harrumphed, turned on his heel, walked to the fireplace and flooed home.
Lucius smiled winningly and walked over to the cabinet.
After pouring himself a drink he called for a house elf.
“Perry ready the set of rooms beside my own.” Perry nodded his understanding, wrung his hands, smashed his head against the floor, and then winked out.
Laughter seemed to sparkle in Lucius’ eyes as a slight smile played at his lips and the corners of his eyes crinkled. ‘Harry should really be more careful about what he murmurs in the cover of darkness.’ Lucius reflected.
Lucius smiled fully as he thought about his newest housemate.
